In Los Angeles in 2006 (post-series Angel), the Powers That Be and the Senior Partners are vying to control the city, a battle of good versus evil fought not between themselves directly, but between those they bring to the city from other timelines and realities and worlds. Seemingly on a whim, people arrive and people vanish, their reasons for arriving or leaving sometimes known to them and sometimes not. Good, evil, neutral - all must pick at least one, as the war continues on even when all appears to be calm. LOCATION(S): Los Angeles. COMMUNICATIONS NOTES: An online message board (that features elements found both in Proboards-type boards and some elements of LiveJournal, such as filters) is the hub of the communication for those displaced to Los Angeles. Unless technology is brought from future times on arrival, most other technology conforms to that available in 2006. THE NEW AFTER harry potter 'verse, single fandom |
The Muggle world outside moves onwards in 2001, but within the boundaries of the wizarding world of Harry Potter's generation, time seems to defy all reason and actions of an unknown force seem to defy all sense of logic. The beginning of this change was heralded by an enormous number of simultaneous disappearances, including many of the wizarding world's most famous. Then came the wizards and witches (and even Squibs and Muggles in some cases) from past or future times, some even from beyond death itself. Where displaced individuals appear, the surroundings occasionally change, turning aged or destroyed buildings into what they once were to bring history to life, or bringing structures that have yet to exist to hint at the (now alternate) future. Sometimes these individuals replace versions of themselves in an instantaneous switch, but most fill the void left by the earlier disappearance of another version of themselves. Yet with every arrival, time itself seems to destabilize more, bringing new surprises with every timeline alteration that the influx creates. No one can explain any of it and no one knows who is to blame for it. All those who have been displaced can do for now is decide what they will do with their lives. Will they carry on as they had been or will they start anew? Will they repeat past mistakes or will they right old wrongs? Only time will tell. LOCATION(S): Primarily the wizarding world within the United Kingdom. Other countries may serve as secondary locations. COMMUNICATIONS NOTES: Built into each journal is a basic privacy system that does not require a wand. Anyone can make public, private and "private to X" or "private from X" entries by ICly writing those words in brackets into the journals (players are free to use their preferred formatting to indicate this). In addition to writing each name, large groups ("private to the Order" or "private from known Death Eaters") can be created by using the last pages to list all included (similar to LiveJournal/InsaneJournal filters). As they are basic spells, advanced magic is occasionally capable of breaking through (with OOC permission). Those with wands can supplement this basic privacy with wards, charms, hexes and jinxes that suit their level of magical skill. They can be found under this tag. CHARACTER NOTES: 'Incarnates' are individuals that possess the memories and other aspects of a character from a work of fiction known as an 'Origin'. After they awaken to their Origin knowledge, it remains with them until they die and then that collective memory is reincarnated in a new individual. Origins can be from works of fiction as old as the written word up to works of fiction just created; there is no rhyme or reason. Some individuals will never recall more that the memories of the Origin and only demonstrate passing similarities of personality, whereas others may learn of all their past lives or be entirely controlled by their Origin - as well as every shade of gray between these two points.
